Greetings,
Welcome to my website, feel free to have a look around. You can read a little about my books, plus what other people have said about them — in the form of reviews. You can also read about my teaching work or listen to podcasts of me talking about my Orange Prize and Encore Prize short-listed novel, The White Woman on the Green Bicycle. Or you can browse the odd interview in the press, or link through to my author site at Simon and Schuster UK.
Looks like 2012 will be another busy year, part of which I will be at Greenwich University as one of the Writers in Residence working for The Royal Literary Fund.
MARCH – sees the issue of the paperback edition of my memoir With the Kisses of his Mouth.
In APRIL I will be returning to TRINIDAD in order to do research as well as read from my third novel and teach workshops for the BOCAS-Litfest. I will also be joining CALAG (Caribbean Literature Action Group) for its first ever meeting, very exciting.
JULY – sees the launch of my third novel ARCHIPELAGO in the UK and USA and TRINIDAD — at the Reader’s Bookshop. I will also be reading from Archipelago at the London Literature Festival on the Southbank and at the Ways with Words festival in Dartington.
In AUGUST, I will be teaching for the Writer’s Lab in Skyros and for The Arvon Foundation in Devon. I will also be reading at the Edinburgh Literature Festival.
In the meantime I will be researching another novel, this one also set in Trinidad. It will have something to do with an attempted coup d’etat.
For now, peace and love,
Monique
