I teach Creative Writing here and there. Having completed an MA and PhD in Creative Writing, and worked as a Centre Director for Arvon, I’m a great believer in mentoring and peer support in the early stages of a writer’s life. I’ve been well mentored myself and think that the craft which underpins fiction can be taught. I now enjoy passing on what I’ve learnt over the course of the last ten years of my writing life. I teach in the UK, Trinidad, Cuba and in Greece.
Currently, I teach Creative Writing and Life Writing for The Arvon Foundation, English PEN, The Writer’s Lab in Skyros, and as a guest tutor on the MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths.
I also enjoy reading from my work. I read to small groups or at festivals. If you would like to book me for a reading or to teach, you can do so via my publicist at Simon and Schuster UK (see contacts).
